How to warm up a new sending domain without burning it

A four-week ramp plan for new domains that protects your inbox placement from day one.

Why warmup matters

A brand-new domain has zero reputation with Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo. Send 2,000 emails on day one and you'll land in spam before lunch — sometimes permanently.

The four-week ramp

  1. Week 1: 20 emails per day to engaged contacts only
  2. Week 2: Increase to 50 per day, add a second mailbox
  3. Week 3: 150 per day, introduce cold prospects in small batches
  4. Week 4: 300+ per day, full campaign volume

Pair the volume ramp with proper SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records before you send your first email. Without those, no amount of warmup will save you.

Treat your sending domain like a credit score. It takes months to build and one bad week to destroy.
