Why list quality beats copy
We've audited hundreds of outbound programs and the pattern is the same: teams obsess over subject lines while sending to lists riddled with role accounts, dead domains, and prospects who left the company eight months ago.
The checklist
- Verify every email at the SMTP layer, not just syntax
- Strip role-based addresses (info@, sales@, hello@)
- Confirm the company still has an active website and MX records
- Cross-check job title against LinkedIn within the last 90 days
- Remove anyone who unsubscribed from any prior campaign
- Cap sends per domain to avoid tripping spam filters
- Segment by industry so your copy can stay specific
